Citrix:Flash isn’t working for users on TS and Citrix

It might happen that ‘Adobe Flash Player’ is working properly under an Administrator account on a Citrix server, however the users are receiving a popup with the notification that Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed together with the popup “Active X” for which the users don’t have any access. See the solution below to fix the bug as an Administrator:

Dealing with Macromedia Flash Player for non admin usersBy default, EVERYONE is denied. Hence the error.

While it is a few months after the last post this is what I found. We are using a PS 4.5 farm with Office 2007 including IEv7 running on Win 2003 Server SP2:-

Change the permissions to “READ” for everyone on the two registry keys below. (Ensure it is replicated to the child objects.)

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{D27CDB6B-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D27CDB6B-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000}]

Next time the users login, it works.

The fix for this is to uninstall Flash and then delete the following registry key
    (Admin rights will be required).

    CODE: SELECT ALL
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/x-shockwave-flash

Then install Flash and the permission mask should now be correct.
A quick test of embedded content will confirm.
