Backup: BackupExec 12.5 VSS foutmeldingen Exchange Information Store

Situatie:

– Windows 2003 SBS SP1

– Exchange 2003 SP2

– BackupExec 12.5

 

Na het hebben geïnstalleerd van BackupExec v. 12.5 op een Small Business Server kreeg ik de volgende foutmelding:

Het volgende is uitgevoerd om het probleem te herstellen:

 

1. De volgende hotfix geinstalleerd: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940349 deze bevat: “Availability of a Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) update rollup package for Windows Server 2003 to resolve some VSS snapshot issues.”

 

Deze is te vinden voor de volgende uitvoeringen:

Windows Server 2003 for x86-based Systems

Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based Systems

Windows Server 2003 for x64-based Systems

2. Binnen de job de volgende aanpassing gemaakt:

3. Register edit: How to turn on the Exchange writer for the Volume Shadow Copy service in Windows Small Business Server 2003

Hiervoor dient het volgende te worden uitgevoerd:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then double-click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
  3. Double-click the Disable Exchange Writer value.
  4. In the Value data text box, change the value from 1 to 0, and then click OK.
  5. Quit Registry Editor.
  6. Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
  7. Stop and then restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.
